Take your Motorcycle Endorsement Test with Florida Safety Council!
If you are at least 21 years old, the Florida Safety Council is certified by the State of Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles Florida Rider Training Program to administer both the written and riding skills tests required to obtain a Florida Motorcycle Endorsement. Most cyclists come to the Safety Council to take Florida Motorcycle Endorsement Test as a matter of convenience, either due to the availability of a variety of times and locations, or in many cases, because they choose to use one of the Safety Council's smaller, more maneuverable motorcycles for the skills test. There is no extra charge for using one of the motorcycles provided by the Safety Council and using a smaller motorcycle may make passing the test considerably easier. Being provided a motorcycle is not an option when testing at a DHSMV facility. If you choose to use a motorcycle other than ours, for the skills portion of the motorcycle endorsement test, it must be street legal with a tag and proof of insurance.
The fee for testing is $80.00. In the event a cyclist has already passed the written portion of the Florida Motorcycle Endorsement Test at the DHSMV and has been issued a temporary "permit" allowing him/her to ride a motorcycle in Florida, he/she may take only the skills portion of the motorcycle endorsement test with the Safety Council to satisfy the Florida motorcycle endorsement requirements. However, persons wishing to do this MUST bring the valid temporary Florida Motorcycle Permit with them when testing or they will be required to retake the written test. So remember, if you have one, bring your current permit.
Cyclists needing to take the written test are strongly encouraged to read the "Florida Motorcycle Operator Manual" prior
to attempting the test. These manuals are available at all DHSMV driver license facilities and online here:
Motorcycle Operator Manual - ENGLISH PDF Format - 1.38MB
Motorcycle Operator Manual - SPANISH PDF Format - 2.33MB
Motorcycle Endorsement Tests are administered at the following locations:
Performance Honda
16123 W Colonial Dr, Winter Garden (click here for map).
Saturday's 2:30PM-5:30PM
(Please call to verify availability 407-897-4441)
Walkups

varying times, based on the availability of certified examiners and test sites. Appointments for locations other than
Performance Honda are
required and may be made by calling (407) 897-4441.
For the Florida motorcycle endorsement skills test, cyclists are required to wear eye protection (sunglasses or prescription are acceptable) and a DOT approved helmet. Helmets and eye protection are available at all locations at no extra charge.
Anyone failing either the written or skills test will have a maximum of 30 days in which to schedule a "one time only" retest at no extra charge. Retests scheduled for after the 30 day maximum time limit will be charged the full test price. Knowledge retests may be taken the same day. Skill retests may not be taken the same day, but may be scheduled the next calendar day after the initial test, based on examiner and test site availability. For riders displaying poor riding skills, the examiner may recommend taking a motorcycle Basic Rider Course available through the Florida Safety Council by calling (407) 896-1894 in Orange County and Seminole County, (321) 952-5327 in Brevard County and toll free at 1-800-372-3335 elsewhere.
