If you wish to operate any two or three wheel motorcycle, whose engine is more than 50 cc, you are required to have a motorcycle endorsement on your driver license or a motorcycle-only license. Upon successful completion of the trike program you will be eligible for a three-wheeled motorcycle endorsement.

"First Gear" Introductory Motorcycle Course

If you are new to motorcycles or have just thought about riding a motorcycle, but not sure you were ready. The Florida Safety Council is proud to offer our “First Gear” course.
Before you commit to taking our basic motorcycle riding course, try our introductory motorcycle riding course at a fraction of the cost for the basic rider course. Gain an understanding of the basics and get comfortable with a motorcycle.

This course is only 3 hours long and gets you up close with a motorcycle or scooter (depending on your choice). Our Motorcycle Safety Foundation certified Rider Coaches will review all the basics of the motorcycle and essentials of motorcycle riding. The motorcycle introduction curriculum includes;

Helmets, Motorcycles, and Scooter will be provided by The Florida Safety Council.

Save $25 on Basic Rider Course

After completing the “First Gear” introductory motorcycle riding course, you can decide to take the next step in bike riding and register for the Basic Rider Course.  A portion of your “First Gear” tuition will go toward the cost your basic rider course.

 Taking the introductory riding course will not only save you $25 on the cost of the basic rider course, but will leave you prepared and more confident as you complete the basic rider course for your Florida motorcycle endorsement.

This introductory riding course for new riders is available at our downtown Orlando range (Bumby Ave), and will soon be available at different locations throughout Central Florida.

Online registration for the “First Gear” course is fast and easy, and can be completed in less than 10 minutes. If you would prefer to use a Scooter and not a motorcycle please make note of that in the “additional information” section of the online registration form.

Satisfaction Refund
If, after beginning the course, you realize motorcycles are not for you, there is an option of taking the course on a scooter. If you are still uncomfortable or unhappy, we will issue a partial refund.
