Aggressive Driver and Street Racing Program
One of the leading problems identified on our roadways is aggressive driving. Whether it stems from road rage or street racing, it is the cause of an increasing amount of motor vehicle crashes and deaths. Statistics have shown an overwhelming increase in the number of crashes that have resulted from some form of aggressive driving. Aggressive driving is defined in the DHSMV driver handbook as "...the act of operating a motor vehicle in a selfish, bold, or pushy manner, without regard for the rights or safety of others."
Purpose of Aggressive Driving and Street Racing Program
Florida Safety Council offers this class designed for drivers who exhibit aggressive driving traits and have incurred multiple traffic offenses. The aggressive driving course is geared towards helping drivers who exhibit signs of aggressive driving or street racing. The course gives these drivers the opportunity to review and change the aggressive driving and street racing behaviors that have caused offenders to receive traffic tickets and/or become involved in traffic crashes.
The Aggressive Driver and Street Racing course may be court-ordered.
