Purpose of Advanced Driver Improvement Course

The Florida Safety Council offers this DHSMV Florida state approved class which is designed for individuals with multiple traffic offense as well as other high risk drivers who have had their licenses suspended or revoked. The main focus of the Advanced Driver Improvement course is to review and change the driving behaviors that have caused these traffic offenders to receive traffic tickets and have become involved in traffic crashes, resulting in the suspension or revocation of their Florida License. Our Advanced Driver Improvement course is approved by the State of Florida.


The Advanced driver improvement class may be court-ordered by a Florida judge.

The Advance driver improvement course may also be required under Habitual Traffic Offender or Points guidelines of the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV).

Advanced Driver Improvement Course Goal

The goal of this ADI school course is examine the relationship between driving, holding a florida driver license, and fulfilling basic needs.

Advanced Driver Improvement ( ADI ) Course Content

  • Understanding the basic needs common to all humans.
  • Define the needs fulfilled by having a driver’s license.
  • Learning to a accept responsibility for student’s own actions.
  • How to e establish self-control.
  • Identify the cause(s) of violations and poor driving records.
  • To identify the advantages of maintaining a good driving record.
  • To establish and maintain “safe driving” behaviors and attitudes.

Advanced Driver Improvement ( ADI) Course Format

  • Twelve hour course divided into multiple sessions.
  • Maximum of 20 participants per class in a highly interactive format.
  • Group sessions conducted by a Florida certified trained facilitator.

Advanced Driver Improvement classes are scheduled on a regular basis and also available through ADI online. ADI School classes are conveniently located at all office locations.

Students should provide a copy of the court order of DHSMV referral form to insure correct reporting of the attendance to referring court or agency. Registration offices are located in Orlando, Kissimmee, Longwood, Merritt Island, and Melbourne.
