Purpose of Divorce and Parenting Course
Provide a means of improving parental responsibility and relationship building between parents and their child(ren). Understanding
emotions associated with divorce. Communicating with the other parent and child(ren) properly. Produce parents that embrace the importance
of taking an active and rewarding role in the rearing of their child(ren). Understanding legal concepts associated with divorce and
custody of children.
REQUIRED BY FLORIDA LAW for those entering divorce proceedings where children are involved.
APPROVED BY THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN & FAMILIES.
Students should check with the applicable judicial circuit before taking the class online since several circuits restrict the use of Internet or distance learning for parenting courses.
Goal
Prepare parents for both the emotional and legal situations associated with divorce and child-rearing. Help parents sustain lasting and meaningful bonds with their child(ren). Create an environment for quality parent-to-parent communication.
